On September 27, 2017, the MBLLC and the Senate Office of Education and Civic Engagement resumed its Civics Day on the Hill initiative by hosting students from the Orchard Garden K-8 School in Roxbury. This program invites 8th -11th grade classrooms from communities of color to participate in a full-day educational program at the State House. Guest speakers for this visit included MBLLC Chair, Representative Frank Moran; Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz; Senate Clerk, William Welch; Chief of Staff to the Senate President, Natasha Perez; and Constituent Services Aide to Governor Baker, Dana Valentine.
