MBLLC LAUNCHES CIVICS DAY ON THE HILL IN COLLABORATION WITH THE SENATE

​In February 2017, the MBLLC joined the Senate Office of Education and Civic Engagement in launching the Civics Day on the Hill initiative. For its launch, the MBLLC and Senate hosted Boston Public School's Washington Irving School (Roslindale) for a half-day educational experience at the State House. This initiative aims to help to increase student diversity in State House educational programs and to expand 8th -10th grade student’s understanding of the Legislature. Guest speakers included Senate President Stan Rosenberg, Senator Linda Dorcena Forry, Representative Russell Holmes, Senate President Chief of Staff Natacha Perez, and other legislative staffers.
